One of the crafts I like very much to do is sewing. In the year on 1990, I move from Brazil to Germany and one of my first acquisitions in Germany was a sewing machine, that I still have today! 27 years of friendship! 😉 I remember that I was on the tram with the box on my lap and look at it and read: Industria Brasileira. In one moment I hold on and look again: this machine was produced in Brazil! 😀 Sometimes you go far to buy things from where you came from…
I use my machine always I had time. I sew some clothes for me and for friends, and some other stuff and the only piece that I made in Germany, that I still have today is this patchwork cover from the photo above!
My oldest DIY piece
I saw in patchwork style all parts together and then I quilt it handy during the winter evenings end of the 90’s. I enjoy this work a lot. She is my oldest DIY piece I have and I’m jealous of it if my husband lets our dog go on it… even Limo (our Beagle) have no rights to sleep on this precious piece!
It was made by using a paper template to get very straight lines for each rectangle. Later I sew them together and made the borders and apply the back part by quilting. The size is 1,45 m x 1,95 m. I simply love it!
Now I’m looking for a new project to do in patchwork and quilt. Maybe a bag, mug rugs or casserole carrier. Open for ideas! The machine move to Poland with me!
Do you like patchwork and quilt? What do you like to make as next?
Have fun on crafting!
