I like to invite friends and whenever is possible, I use this opportunity to bake something new. Mostly my husband has to be the one that tastes a new recipe and say if is good or what should be better. One time I made cupcakes and the friends like them so much that one ask me if I could make 100 for the Birthday of her son. So I made them! She told me later that they disappear very quick and one girl eats 12 cupcakes… Uh, even if I like it very much, I cannot do this. Well, then she asks me later if I could make cupcakes again for her Birthday: 150 pieces!
150 Cupcakes in 3 flavors and a Bouquet!
The challenge is to make cupcakes that the frosting is not too sweet and not too buttery and the cake cannot be dry… Here in Poland, the people don’t like when is too sweet or just the buttercream.
To make this 150 cupcakes I choice 3 flavors: Choco-Banana, Vanilla, and Red-Velvet
The frosting that tastes very good and is fit for summer temperatures: Swiss Meringue Buttercream
Decoration: self-made Marzipan hearts and flowers. The color of the party was: Black-Red-White!
The bouquet I improvise a bit, I was short of time, but I had some cupcakes remaining and I decide to made it. The frosting is Strawberry Swiss Meringue Buttercream decorated with Marzipan numbers and letters. The result you can see on the foto down.
It was a challenge to bake this quantity in a normal kitchen oven, must synchronize very good and have space enough to put them all to cool and decorate later. It was fun and I enjoy it a lot. She is a very lovely friend and I was happy to make for her this gift.
Do you bake for friends and family parties? What was your biggest challenge?
Have a sweet day!
