Today everything is fine! I wake up, get my good morning kiss from husband, the sun is shining, I drink my coffee and take breakfast, take a shower and start my laptop to begin the day.
All is OK and I’m grateful!
But, had you already a day that the point: push the button and start the computer transforms into a nightmare? Is not working… no way to access emails, open the browser and continue just doing what is on schedule?
Then come the question: what can I do now to fix it? Well, is always a solution, but sometimes a problem with the computer result in a big loss. Photos, software, all bookmarks that you collect carefully over a long time, all is gone. Uff… I made this experience and can say: very bad feeling, I lost the most of all my photos… this was the biggest loss… I’m still very sad about it… and angry on myself. Why?
I could avoid it, even if my computer had crashed on a way that he would be only good to be a paper weight… I missed to make a good backup… and it had been so easy, quick and really low cost.
Can you imagine yourself in this situation?
Take a small break and think about: all your photos, all bookmarks, all saved documents, even payment proofs that you made, saved downloads, the programs you use daily, etc… All gone…
What to do to avoid this situation?
We cannot avoid that the system or the hardware get a problem, but we can do some small steps in a routine to protect our data and work!
Backup: the first step that I do frequently now is to actualize my backup on an external hard drive. Once a week, maximum every two weeks this have to be done.
Bookmarks: very quick and easy, make an export to the hard drive from the bookmarks.
Restore Point: make a restore point from the system. Oh, I can say, this really helps in many cases.
I will write in a next post how I make this 3 steps that give me a bit more security in my virtual life! So if you like, you also can do this, really easy. Do you have an experience with this kind? What did you lose? How you fix it again?
Hope that for you today is also a good day!
